Turquoise Ring

Sonoran Gold turquoise set in a 22kt bezel with a one of a kind sterling band. Turquoise is Sonoran Gold. Turquoise measures 1 1/4” x 1/2”, band measures 5/8”. Size 7

This Turquoise is mined in Mexico near the city of Cananea. This material is relatively new to the industry and is a newer deposit in the Cananea mines.

Unlike most turquoise, Sonoran Gold is not mined in veins but rather as individual nuggets typically found in clay deposits.

(Ring can not be sized because turquoise is a soft stone and won’t tolerate heat.)

Gardening is a passion for me and I come from a long line of gardeners on my mother’s side. So it was natural I bring nature to my pieces. Often I abstract the imagery and a pattern will become the band of a ring or the texture on a pendant. My fascination with historical jewelry finds its way into my pieces as well.
I hand carve my tiny pieces out of wax and cast them in the lost wax casting process. They are then hand constructed with various metals and unusual stones.
